Rubedo: Neurodivergent-Affirming Transitional Living
Neurodivergent young adults experience the world in unique and meaningful ways—and they deserve their own spaces to do just that. Our neurodivergent-affirming transitional living residence Rubedo provides a supportive, structured environment where young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Nonverbal Learning Differences (NVLD), and other neurodiverse profiles can build confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging.
Neurodivergence is something to be understood, supported, and celebrated. Transitional living at Rubedo helps clients develop skills to navigate life, relationships, education, and career goals while embracing their natural strengths.

Neurodivergent Clients We Support
Rubedo -he neurodivergent-affirming track of Touchstone, our transitional living program - is designed for young adults ages 18-30 who:
- Struggle with executive functioning, making social connections, or motivation
- Want to develop independent living skills in a way that works for them
- Have experienced challenges in traditional educational or vocational environments
- Need support with emotional regulation, advocating for themselves, and maintaining daily routines
- Would benefit from a therapeutic, affirming approach that respects their unique perspectives
If that sounds like you or a loved one, we can’t wait to connect.
What is Neurodivergent-Affirming Treatment?
Neurodivergent-affirming treatment means taking a strengths-based approach. At Rubedo, we start by identifying and understanding each client’s unique skills, and build from there, utilizing:

Individualized Therapeutic Support
Each client receives personalized care, including individual and group therapy, executive functioning coaching, and life skills development. Through specialized programming, Rubedo clients explore emotional regulation, anxiety management, self-advocacy, and more.

Community & Social Engagement
Building relationships and finding a sense of belonging is a key focus. At Rubedo, clients engage in social skill development, recreational activities, and real-world experiences to strengthen interpersonal connections in a natural, low-pressure way—all in a dedicated residence exclusive to clients of this track.

Independent Living & Career Readiness
Rubedo provides hands-on support for developing independent living skills such as budgeting, cooking, transportation, and time management. We also offer career and academic guidance, helping clients explore their strengths and future goals.

The Therapeutic Milieu
Our structured, supportive therapeutic living environment allows clients to practice new skills in a real-world setting. Through daily interactions, guided experiences, and coaching, they learn to navigate life with confidence.

Specialized Support for Neurodivergence
Unlike traditional treatment programs that focus on changing behaviors to fit neurotypical norms, our neurodivergent-affirming track is designed to:
- Meet clients where they are, without judgment
- Provide the tools and strategies needed to thrive in their own way
- Celebrate neurodivergent strengths while building essential life skills
- Support long-term success through individualized planning and transition support
For example, we built our neurodivergent-dedicated residence to feature things like a dedicated sensory room, where clients can meet their sensory needs safely and without judgment.
At Rubedo, we help neurodivergent young adults create a life that works for them—on their terms.
