Young Adult Community at Cornerstones of Maine
Find Your New Way Forward
Maybe school just wasn’t for you. Maybe you’ve tried therapy before, but it didn’t change much. Maybe you’re watching your friends move forward with jobs and relationships while you’re just…not. We get it.
At Cornerstones of Maine, we help young adults (18-30) who are smart, creative, and full of potential—but struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, or just feeling stuck. Here, you’ll find a place where you can figure things out, without pressure, without judgment, and with real tools that actually help. We’ll show you how to step into the life you deserve.
What’s Different About Cornerstones?
Cornerstones of Maine is not a school. You’re not about to get some lecture on how to “get your life together.” It’s not a therapist’s office. It’s a real-world community where you’ll learn how to build the kind of life you want—on your terms.
As a member of the Cornerstones of Maine community, you will:

Get therapy from people who understand you.
No stuffy offices. No awkward silences. Here, your therapists work alongside you in real life. So, you can have real conversations about what’s going on, why you feel stuck, and what actually works to move forward.

Build independence so you can live your best life.
Learn to cook, budget, organize your life, and manage responsibilities—without feeling overwhelmed, and without depending on your parents.

Figure out school or work.
Whether you want to get back to college, start a career, or explore something totally different, we help you find the right path and give you the support you need to actually do it.

Meet people who get you.
You’re not the only one that feels this way. In fact, a lot of young adults are in the same place. Living with a supportive group of normal people going through similar things makes everything easier.

Practice life in a real-world setting.
You won’t be stuck in a facility or out in the woods; you’ll live in a house in Portland, Biddeford, or Kennebunkport, Maine, just minutes from the restaurants, shops, coffee shops, and music venues of downtown Portland. Plus, the beaches are nearby, too, with surfing, hiking, and more outdoor activities available.
Our Promises
Many times, young adults in your shoes feel let down by so many people who have crossed their paths along the way. If you give us a chance and give us your trust, we can promise you this in return:
You won’t be micromanaged.
You’ll have support, but we also want you to live your own life—because that’s how real change happens.
You’ll be part of a community.
Living with others who are figuring things out too means you’re not alone. No matter how hard it’s been to make friends, or how skeptical you are, you’ll find your people here.
You won’t be bored.
Your day will be structured but flexible, with a mix of therapy, skills coaching, fun social activities, and time to focus on what matters to you.
This won’t be yet another failed attempt at change—if you’re all in.
We’ll help you apply what you learn in real life, so when you leave, you actually know how to handle things.

Is Cornerstones of Maine for You?
Cornerstones might be a fit if…
- You feel stuck, lost, or overwhelmed by life.
- Anxiety, depression, ADHD, or motivation issues are holding you back.
- You want to be independent but don’t feel ready yet.
- You’ve tried therapy or other programs, but they didn’t really help.
We’re not the right fit for people who need inpatient hospitalization, active detox, or a locked-down environment. This is a therapeutic community, not a hospital.
Let’s Go.
If you’re tired of feeling stuck and ready to actually change things, we’d love to talk. No pressure. No commitment. Just an open and honest conversation about where you’ve been, where you want to go, and how we can help you get there. Call us by clicking the button below, or send a chat.
